Responsibilities
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing systems
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum processors with >1000 qubits
- Secure $2M+ in annual research funding through NSF and DARPA grants
- Mentor PhD interns and publish findings in Nature/Science journals
- Drive commercialization of quantum solutions through strategic industry partnerships
- Present breakthroughs at global quantum computing conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum decoherence mitigation and topological quantum computing
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Experience with quantum hardware integration (superconducting, ion trap, photonic)
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants
