Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning
- Lead experimental validation of quantum systems on hardware platforms like IBM Quantum and Rigetti
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions into classical computing frameworks
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at leading conferences (QIP, APS March Meeting)
- Develop error mitigation techniques for scalable quantum computing
- Secure research funding through competitive grant proposals (NSF, DoE, DARPA)
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of quantum innovation
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantum field (or equivalent industry experience)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and quantum circuit design
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and complex analysis
- Experience with quantum hardware simulators and real quantum processors
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Passion for advancing quantum technology for real-world applications
