Responsibilities
- Develop 3-5 year technology roadmaps aligned with market disruption forecasts
- Lead scenario planning for emerging tech adoption (quantum, AGI, neurotech)
- Conduct horizon scanning through patent analysis and academic partnerships
- Present strategic recommendations to board of directors and investors
- Manage $5M+ innovation budget for prototyping and pilot programs
- Mentor R&D teams on future-proof architecture principles
- Author industry thought leadership publications and white papers
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic planning or R&D leadership within tech sector
- Proven track record in commercializing emerging technologies
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, synthetic biology, or AGI frameworks
- Experience with technology forecasting methodologies (Delphi, scenario planning)
- Strong network connections with DARPA, NASA, or similar innovation bodies
- Certification in Futures Studies or Technology Assessment preferred
- Prior experience scaling tech startups to unicorn valuations
