Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error correction protocols to stabilize qubit coherence
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to improve quantum processor architectures
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and industry conferences
- Lead cross-functional teams to translate quantum solutions into commercial applications
- Secure federal and private quantum research funding through grant proposals
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Experience with quantum annealing platforms (D-Wave, Rigetti)
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex probability theory
- Track record of securing competitive research grants
