Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional research teams to develop quantum error correction methodologies
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to prototype quantum processors and qubit architectures
- Publish high-impact research in leading quantum computing journals and conferences
- Develop quantum software frameworks compatible with next-generation quantum systems
- Secure external funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and establish quantum computing curriculum initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years post-doctoral experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm development and quantum circuit optimization
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing journals
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Demonstrated ability to secure research grants exceeding $500K
