Responsibilities
- Assist Patrons: Help visitors locate materials, use computers, and navigate library services.
- Shelving & Organization: Sort, shelve, and organize books, periodicals, and media to ensure easy access.
- Check-in/Check-out: Process library returns and manage circulation using our library management system.
- Customer Service: Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and provide a welcoming atmosphere for all ages.
- Program Support: Assist with setting up and cleaning up for children's story times and adult workshops.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the library stacks and public areas tidy and organized.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy is helpful (training provided).
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand, bend, and lift light to medium boxes (up to 25 lbs) for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to organize materials accurately and pay attention to detail.
