Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with locating books, periodicals, and digital resources.
- Shelve library materials in an organized and accurate manner.
- Process new book arrivals and check in returned items efficiently.
- Operate the circulation desk including checking out items and managing fines.
- Assist in the maintenance and organization of library equipment, including public computers and scanners.
- Support library programs and events by setting up materials and assisting attendees.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for all visitors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Previous experience in a library, school, or customer service setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and library management software (e.g., Integrated Library Systems).
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
