Responsibilities
- Manage circulation desk operations including check-ins/check-outs, renewals, and account maintenance
- Provide exceptional reference assistance to patrons of all ages and backgrounds
- Process and organize new materials including books, media, and digital resources
- Assist with technology support including computer access, printing, and basic troubleshooting
- Develop and implement engaging library programs for children, teens, and adults
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to collection development initiatives
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily branch operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; library science coursework preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience in a public-facing role
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with library management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills with ability to work with diverse populations
- Basic knowledge of library classification systems (Dewey Decimal)
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Valid Texas driver's license (for branch travel if required)
