Responsibilities
- Material Organization: Sort, shelve, and organize library materials, including books, DVDs, and periodicals, to ensure accurate catalog placement.
- Patron Assistance: Help library visitors locate resources, use public computers, and navigate the library’s digital systems.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service at the circulation desk and throughout the facility, answering inquiries and resolving basic issues.
- Event Support: Assist in the setup, execution, and breakdown of library programs, workshops, and community events.
- Inventory Management: Conduct routine inventory checks and help with the processing of new arrivals and the weeding of outdated materials.
- Facility Maintenance: Keep the library spaces tidy, organized, and welcoming for all visitors.
Qualifications
- No Experience Required: We are looking for eager learners; full training will be provided.
- Interest in Literature: A genuine passion for reading, books, or information services is highly valued.
- Basic Computer Skills: Comfortable using computers, tablets, and navigating simple software interfaces.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy boxes (up to 25 lbs).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
