Responsibilities
- Provide Exercise & Companionship: Safely walk and exercise dogs of various breeds and sizes on established routes in the Glendale area.
- Maintain Safety Standards: Adhere to leash laws, keep dogs under control at all times, and ensure the safety of the dogs and the public during walks.
- Pet Hygiene: Carry necessary supplies including waste bags and water. Immediately clean up after dogs and leave the walking area tidy.
- Client Communication: Provide real-time photo updates and detailed written notes to owners regarding the dog's mood, energy levels, and any behavioral observations.
- Route Management: Follow GPS directions and complete all scheduled walks on time to ensure the dog's routine remains uninterrupted.
- Pet Handling: Manage multiple dogs during group walks, ensuring proper socialization and preventing conflicts between pets.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete digital checklists, update client profiles, and report any health issues or emergencies immediately to the office.
Qualifications
- Experience Preferred: Previous dog walking or pet sitting experience is highly desirable.
- Valid Driver's License: Must have access to a reliable vehicle and valid auto insurance.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to walk briskly for 30-60 minutes and lift moderate weights (up to 50 lbs) to handle leashes or dog carriers.
- Reliability: A proven track record of punctuality and consistency is essential.
- Love for Animals: A genuine passion for dogs and a patient, gentle demeanor are mandatory.
- Background Check: Must be willing to pass a background check and drug screening as part of our safety protocols.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners.
