Responsibilities
- Safely walk dogs individually or in small groups (2-4 dogs) in designated Chicago neighborhoods
- Monitor pet behavior and health during walks, reporting any concerns to pet owners
- Administer basic care (e.g., water breaks, waste cleanup) with attention to hygiene
- Maintain accurate walk logs and client communication via our mobile app
- Adapt walking routes based on weather conditions and pet needs
- Transport pets to/from veterinary appointments or grooming when required
- Uphold strict safety protocols during all interactions with animals
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year professional dog walking or pet care experience
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record (if transporting pets)
- Current pet first/CPR certification or willingness to obtain immediately
- Ability to walk dogs in various weather conditions (heat, rain, snow)
- Excellent communication skills and reliability with punctuality
- Physical stamina to handle active dogs and extended outdoor activity
- Knowledge of dog behavior and basic training principles
- Must live within 10 miles of Chicago city center
