Responsibilities
- Safely walk and exercise 2-4 dogs per group in designated Newark neighborhoods
- Provide real-time GPS-tracked updates and photo/video reports to pet owners
- Administer basic medications (with training)
- Maintain clean and organized equipment (leashes, waste bags, water bowls)
- Monitor dog behavior and health during walks
- Attend monthly pet care workshops and safety training
- Build strong relationships with clients through consistent, reliable service
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year professional dog walking or pet care experience
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Red Cross Pet First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to walk dogs in all weather conditions (heat, rain, snow)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Passion for animal welfare and Newark community involvement
- Smartphone proficiency for GPS tracking and client communication
