Join the elite front-of-house team at The Velvet Spoon, an award-winning dining establishment located in the heart of Atlanta. We are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our server staff. In this role, you will be responsible for creating memorable dining experiences for our guests while working in a high-energy, upscale environment. We pride ourselves on excellence, and we are looking for someone who embodies the same standards.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming and seating guests with a smile, providing an overview of the menu and daily specials.
- Presenting menus and taking accurate food and beverage orders using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Ensuring all orders are delivered to the kitchen in a timely manner and checking back on guests for satisfaction.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of tables, chairs, and service stations throughout the shift.
- Processing payments efficiently and managing cash and credit transactions.
- Building strong relationships with regular guests to encourage return visits.
- Collaborating with the culinary and bar teams to ensure seamless service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a server in a fine-dining or high-volume restaurant is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of wine and spirits is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting trays and carrying heavy items.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- A valid Food Handler’s Card or ability to obtain one.
