Responsibilities

  • Patron Support: Assist visitors with locating materials, navigating the library catalog, and accessing our extensive digital databases.
  • Collection Management: Process new book arrivals, including checking, stamping, labeling, and shelving items to maintain a pristine and organized collection.
  • Circulation Services: Manage the circulation desk, including checking materials in and out, processing fines, and answering general inquiries via phone and email.
  • Program Assistance: Support library events and children's programs by preparing materials, assisting with setup, and engaging with attendees.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and order of library stacks, public computers, and common areas.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide basic technical troubleshooting for patrons using library computers and Wi-Fi networks.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or coursework in Library Science preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a library, customer service, or retail environment is a strong plus.
