Responsibilities
- Patron Assistance: Greet and assist patrons with locating books, research materials, and navigating our digital databases and public computers.
- Collection Management: Sort, shelve, and organize library materials to ensure the library is accessible and easy to navigate.
- Circulation Support: Manage check-in and check-out processes, handle fines, and assist with the return of materials.
- Program Support: Help prepare for and assist with library programs, storytimes, and community events.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of library spaces, including desks and shelving units.
- Administrative Tasks: Answer phones, manage email inquiries, and help with general library administrative duties.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework is a plus.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We value a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with standard office software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with people of all ages.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and move books and furniture as needed.
- Availability: Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings, is preferred.
