Responsibilities

  • Patron Assistance: Provide friendly and accurate assistance to patrons in locating materials, navigating the online catalog, and utilizing digital resources.
  • Shelving & Organization: Shelve books and periodicals in strict alphabetical and numerical order to ensure easy retrieval and maintain a tidy environment.
  • Circulation Desk: Manage the circulation desk by checking items in and out, processing holds, collecting fines, and issuing library cards.
  • Material Processing: Process new library acquisitions, including checking, stamping, labeling, and covering books.
  • Program Support: Assist in the setup and execution of library programs, events, and workshops for children and adults.
  • System Maintenance: Monitor library terminals for software issues and assist with basic troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations.
  • Policy Enforcement: Enforce library policies regarding borrowing limits and conduct to ensure a safe and respectful environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Library Science or related field is preferred.
