Responsibilities
- Shelving & Maintenance: Organize and maintain library materials, ensuring books and media are returned to their correct locations efficiently.
- Patron Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, helping patrons locate items, and guiding them to digital resources.
- System Support: Assist with the check-in and check-out processes using our integrated library management systems (ILS).
- Program Support: Help set up and facilitate library programs, events, and story times for children and adults.
- Collection Management: Assist in the processing of new arrivals, including labeling, stamping, and covering materials.
- Space Management: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of public areas, study rooms, and reading spaces.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a library, retail, or customer service setting is a plus but not mandatory.
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with library automation software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Organization: Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some evenings.
