Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping 2026-era technologies (quantum-resistant cryptography, neural interfaces, climate modeling AI)
- Develop strategic roadmaps for emerging tech adoption across healthcare, energy, and transportation sectors
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive innovations 3-5 years ahead of market
- Partner with venture capital firms to scout and invest in next-gen startups
- Present futuristic visions to C-suite executives and government innovation councils
- Author white papers on ethical frameworks for autonomous systems and AI governance
- Manage $2M annual R&D budget for experimental technology incubation
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Physics, or related field with 10+ years R&D leadership
- Proven track record in commercializing emerging technologies (quantum, biotech, AGI)
- Deep expertise in at least three of: quantum computing, neuromorphic engineering, synthetic biology, climate tech
- Experience with futures methodologies (Delphi analysis, scenario planning, technology roadmapping)
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, IEEE) or equivalent industry impact
- Strong network within DARPA, NASA JPL, or equivalent innovation ecosystems
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Portfolio of deployed technologies with >$100M market impact
