Responsibilities
- Manage digital and physical collections with precision, ensuring optimal accessibility and preservation
- Deliver advanced reference services to diverse patrons using specialized research methodologies
- Oversee circulation operations, including complex interlibrary loans and inventory management
- Lead community outreach programs and educational workshops for all age groups
- Maintain cataloging systems using MARC standards and emerging metadata technologies
- Collaborate with curatorial teams on special collections exhibits and preservation projects
- Train and mentor junior staff on library protocols and customer excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field required; Master's preferred
- 3+ years of progressive library experience with demonstrated expertise in cataloging
- Advanced proficiency in integrated library systems (ILS) and digital preservation tools
- Exceptional research skills with experience in specialized databases and archives
- Proven ability to manage complex patron interactions with cultural sensitivity
- Valid Louisiana Library Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience developing and implementing community engagement initiatives
- Strong analytical skills for collection development and usage analysis
