Responsibilities
- Manage complex interlibrary loan systems and digital resource cataloging
- Lead specialized reference services for researchers and academic patrons
- Coordinate outreach programs with local schools and cultural institutions
- Maintain and troubleshoot advanced library management software (e.g., Koha, Sierra)
- Train and mentor junior library staff on new technologies and procedures
- Develop and implement digital literacy workshops for diverse community groups
- Oversee collection development for specialized subject areas
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Management, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive library experience with demonstrated leadership
- Advanced proficiency in integrated library systems (ILS) and metadata standards
- Strong bilingual skills in English and Hawaiian or Japanese preferred
- Certification in digital preservation or archival management a plus
- Proven ability to manage complex patron inquiries and research requests
- Experience with grant writing for library program funding
