Responsibilities
- Provide virtual reference services and research assistance to patrons via chat, email, and video conferencing
- Manage digital circulation systems including e-book lending, database access, and online resource reservations
- Develop and deliver virtual literacy programs, workshops, and tech training for diverse community groups
- Maintain and organize digital collections, metadata, and online resource catalogs
- Collaborate with librarians to curate virtual exhibits and promote digital resources through social media
- Support remote patron account management and troubleshoot technical access issues
- Contribute to community outreach initiatives targeting underserved populations
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Library Science, Information Technology, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 2 years experience in library services, digital resource management, or customer support
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (ILS) and digital platforms like Libby, Hoopla, and OverDrive
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Strong problem-solving abilities for remote technical troubleshooting and resource navigation
- Experience developing virtual training materials or digital learning content
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required for El Paso community service)
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional on-site duties
