Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Develop novel error correction protocols for quantum systems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning applications
- Publish high-impact papers in peer-reviewed journals
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to translate theory into practical implementations
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional teams
- Secure external research funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum information theory
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability theory
