Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications in drug discovery and materials science
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop error-corrected quantum processors operating at 99.9% fidelity
- Publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Secure $2M+ in government/private research funding for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Collaborate with NASA and DARPA on quantum communication systems
- Develop quantum machine learning frameworks for 2026-era AI systems
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with superconducting qubit systems or ion-trap architectures
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes (surface, color, LDPC)
- Experience securing federal research grants (NSF, DOE)
- Track record of commercializing quantum technologies
- Expertise in quantum machine learning algorithms
