Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop quantum-classical hybrid computing architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Drive commercialization of quantum solutions through partnerships with Fortune 500 clients
- Mentor junior researchers and develop quantum computing curricula for our university consortium
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA quantum programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics with 3+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and quantum circuit optimization
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory (minimum 3 Nature/Science papers)
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and topological quantum computing
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket, Microsoft Azure Quantum)
- Track record of translating theoretical research into scalable quantum applications
