Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead research on quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum processors with >1000 qubits
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in research grants from NSF, DARPA, and quantum-focused VC firms
- Mentor PhD researchers and supervise quantum computing interns
- Develop quantum software SDKs for commercial applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with superconducting or ion-trap systems
- Published 10+ papers in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum circuit optimization techniques
- Experience with quantum machine learning algorithms (QML, VQE, QAOA)
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding
- Strong background in quantum information theory and topological quantum computing
