Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at cryogenic temperatures
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science journals and top-tier conferences
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grants
- Collaborate with industry partners on quantum cloud computing applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (post-doc experience preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum annealing or superconducting qubits
- Publication record in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Expertise in Python/C++ and quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Familiarity with quantum error correction codes and surface code implementations
- Strong background in linear algebra, statistical mechanics, and information theory
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government collaborations
