Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for optimization and simulation problems
- Design and implement error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware team on qubit coherence improvements and gate optimization
- Publish 2+ peer-reviewed papers annually in top-tier journals/conferences
- Manage cross-functional team of 5-7 quantum researchers and engineers
- Develop quantum machine learning frameworks for 2026-era AI applications
- Secure $2M+ in research funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Published work in Nature/Science/Physical Review journals
- Expertise in quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and circuit optimization
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Proven track record of leading high-impact research projects
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and experimental setups
