Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end quantum algorithm development for cryptography, material science, and AI optimization
- Design fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures targeting 2026 commercial viability
- Direct cross-disciplinary research teams of 8+ quantum physicists and software engineers
- Develop patentable quantum error-correction techniques and hybrid classical-quantum workflows
- Secure $5M+ in federal grants and industry partnerships for quantum R&D initiatives
- Present breakthrough findings at premier conferences like IEEE Quantum Week and Q2B
- Shape Nexus Labs' 5-year quantum roadmap with C-suite executives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Published research in Nature/Science on quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and superconducting qubits
- Track record of translating quantum prototypes into production-grade systems
- Strong background in high-performance computing and distributed quantum networks
- Experience managing research teams with $1M+ annual budgets
- Security clearance (or ability to obtain) for DoD quantum projects
