Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Design and implement scalable quantum architectures with error correction capabilities
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge quantum software-hardware integration
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present findings at international conferences
- Manage a team of 5-7 quantum researchers and graduate interns
- Develop strategic partnerships with academic institutions and industry leaders
- Secure and manage research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private foundations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in quantum algorithm development or quantum computing research
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent journals
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams in research environments
- Familiarity with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contract work
