Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and visitors with a warm, professional demeanor and directing them to the appropriate department.
- Managing the front desk phone system, answering inquiries, and routing calls efficiently.
- Scheduling patient appointments and managing the daily calendar to ensure optimal provider utilization.
- Verifying patient insurance information and processing payments accurately.
- Maintaining and updating patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Coordinating with medical staff to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and preparing medical records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional certification in medical reception is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical or administrative receptionist role is highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic) is a plus.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
