Responsibilities
- Patron Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patrons with locating materials, using library computers, and answering general inquiries.
- Circulation Services: Manage check-in and check-out processes, issue library cards, and collect fines accurately.
- Collection Management: Sort, shelve, and organize returned materials to ensure the library is accessible and tidy.
- Program Support: Assist in the setup and execution of children's and adult programs, including registration and cleanup.
- Administrative Tasks: Answer phones, manage email correspondence, and assist with data entry as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or library setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with library management systems (e.g., SirsiDynix) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse population.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
