Responsibilities
- Patron Assistance: Provide exceptional service to library patrons, assisting with research, book recommendations, and computer usage.
- Collection Management: Organize, shelve, and maintain the physical and digital collections to ensure materials are easily accessible and in top condition.
- Circulation Support: Manage library check-in and check-out processes, handle fines accurately, and process interlibrary loans efficiently.
- Program Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of community programs, workshops, and reading events for all ages.
- Inventory Control: Conduct regular inventory audits and assist in the weeding of outdated materials to keep the collection current.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot basic library system issues and assist patrons with e-book downloads and accessing digital databases.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or library setting is highly valued.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Integrated Library Systems (ILS) is a significant plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
