What You Will Do:
Our Library Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the flow of our library services. Key duties include:
Responsibilities
- Shelve and organize library materials, including books, DVDs, and periodicals, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Check materials in and out for patrons using our integrated library system (ILS).
- Assist patrons with locating resources, using computers, and navigating our digital catalog.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding library hours, events, and services.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and order of public areas, including study rooms and computer labs.
- Assist with the preparation of library programs and events for all age groups.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in customer service or a library setting is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (30+ WPM).
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
