Responsibilities
- Shelve library materials in an organized and efficient manner, ensuring accurate classification and placement.
- Assist patrons with locating resources, using library catalogs, and navigating the digital database.
- Provide exceptional customer service at the circulation desk, including check-in, check-out, and registration processes.
- Process new book acquisitions and manage interlibrary loan requests.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of public areas and study spaces.
- Answer general inquiries and direct visitors to appropriate departments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a customer service or library setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow organizational systems.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with using library software.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy boxes of books.
