Responsibilities
- Manage daily circulation operations including check-outs, returns, and renewals using integrated library systems
- Provide expert reference assistance to patrons in person, via phone, and through digital channels
- Process and catalog new acquisitions, ensuring accurate metadata and shelf placement
- Develop and maintain engaging programs for children, teens, and adult patrons
- Supervise public areas ensuring a safe, welcoming, and organized environment
- Assist with technology support including computer access, printing, and digital resource navigation
- Perform collection maintenance including shelf-reading, weeding, and inventory management
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Library Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years library or customer service experience in a public-facing role
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (e.g., Sierra, ILS) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to serve diverse populations
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of cataloging principles (AACR2/RDA preferred)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Valid Florida driver's license (for outreach program participation)
