Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the circulation desk, including check-in, check-out, and renewing library materials.
- Assist patrons with computer access, internet navigation, and basic technical troubleshooting.
- Shelve books and periodicals with strict attention to detail and classification accuracy.
- Process new acquisitions and maintain the integrity of the library’s digital catalog.
- Provide exceptional customer service and reference assistance to diverse community members.
- Support library events and programs, including setup and attendee management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree or library science background is a plus.
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or library operations is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with library management software (e.g., OCLC, Koha) is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on inclusivity.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Physical ability to lift boxes and stand for extended periods.
