Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional assistance to patrons, answering inquiries and helping locate materials within the library.
- Shelving & Organization: Sort, shelf, and maintain the organization of books and media to ensure easy access.
- Circulation Desk: Check materials in and out, manage holds, and process fines accurately.
- Program Support: Assist in the setup and facilitation of library programs and community events.
- Material Maintenance: Monitor materials for damage and assist in the repair or weeding of collection items.
- Technology Assistance: Help patrons navigate library computers, Wi-Fi, and digital resources.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service or a library setting is preferred but not required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact positively and respectfully with a diverse population.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with finding materials and answering general inquiries.
- Sort, shelve, and maintain the library's collection of books and media.
- Operate circulation desks, check out materials, and manage library accounts.
- Support library programs, events, and community outreach initiatives.
- Monitor library spaces for safety and ensure a welcoming environment.
- Perform basic inventory and material maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and evenings.
