Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service at the circulation desk, assisting patrons with checkouts, returns, and account management
- Organize and maintain library collections, including shelving, weeding, and inventory control
- Facilitate access to digital resources, assisting patrons with computers, printers, and online databases
- Support youth and adult programming, including storytimes, workshops, and community events
- Process interlibrary loans and manage periodical subscriptions
- Assist with collection development and recommend materials for acquisition
- Maintain accurate records of circulation statistics and patron interactions
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Library Science, Information Technology, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 1 year library or customer service experience
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (ILS) and MS Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to serve diverse populations
- Ability to lift 20 lbs and perform repetitive tasks (shelving, bending)
- Basic knowledge of cataloging principles and Dewey Decimal System
- Valid driver's license (for branch rotation)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
