Responsibilities
- Execute complex espresso drinks and pour-overs with precision
- Train and mentor junior baristas on brewing techniques
- Develop seasonal drink menus featuring local ingredients
- Manage inventory control and quality assurance
- Deliver personalized customer experiences for VIP clients
- Coordinate daily shift operations and staff scheduling
- Source and evaluate specialty coffee beans from Michigan roasters
Qualifications
- 3+ years professional barista experience
- SCAA/SCA Barista certification preferred
- Proven ability to train staff and maintain quality standards
- Exceptional knowledge of coffee origins and brewing methods
- Strong inventory management and POS system proficiency
- Ability to work high-volume shifts during peak hours
- Passion for Detroit's culinary scene and local sourcing
- Valid Michigan food handler's certification
