Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care including medication administration, wound treatment, and vital sign monitoring during night shifts
- Document patient assessments and care plans accurately in electronic health records
- Respond to emergency situations with rapid assessment and intervention per protocols
- Coordinate with day-shift staff for seamless patient handovers and care continuity
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control standards across all patient areas
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and families during overnight hours
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety compliance reviews
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Arizona (compact license acceptable)
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience in med-surg or telemetry units
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred
- Strong critical thinking skills for independent decision-making during low-staffed hours
- Proficiency with Epic EMR systems and point-of-care technology
- Ability to adapt to flexible scheduling including variable weekend rotations
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient-family interactions overnight
- Pass background check and pre-employment health screening
