Responsibilities
- Ring up customer purchases accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, knowledgeable service throughout their shopping experience.
- Handle cash, credit, and check payments with strict adherence to cash handling protocols and security policies.
- Bag merchandise neatly and organize the register area to maintain a professional appearance.
- Assist with inventory stocking, restocking shelves, and keeping the sales floor clean and organized.
- Resolve customer inquiries, complaints, or issues in a calm and professional manner.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure store operations run smoothly during peak hours.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to make quick, accurate cash transactions.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 25 lbs).
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with POS technology.
