Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso drinks, pour-overs, and teas, following strict recipes and presentation standards.
- Operate coffee brewing equipment and point-of-sale systems efficiently to ensure smooth customer transactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace, including the coffee bar, dining area, and restrooms, in compliance with health codes.
- Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide recommendations to enhance their coffee experience.
- Train new baristas on brewing techniques, latte art, and company policies to ensure a consistent brand experience.
- Restock inventory of milk, syrups, cups, and pastries to minimize downtime during peak hours.
- Assist in managing food preparation and plating for our in-house bakery items.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in the food and beverage industry is preferred but not required; a strong passion for coffee is essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, outgoing demeanor.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
- Willingness to learn about coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
