Responsibilities
- Monitor premises through surveillance systems and patrols to detect unusual activity
- Access control: verify credentials and manage entry/exit of personnel and vehicles
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations following established protocols
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors and employees
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
- Ensure all security equipment is functioning properly and report any issues
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Security Guard License (or ability to obtain one)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shift
- Strong observational and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations
- Basic computer skills for report writing
- Reliable transportation to and from work locations
- Previous security experience is a plus but not required
