Responsibilities
- Manage complex reference inquiries using advanced research databases and specialized collections
- Oversee interlibrary loan operations and digital resource management systems
- Develop and implement innovative community outreach programs for diverse demographics
- Train and mentor junior staff on cataloging standards (MARC) and circulation protocols
- Assist in budget management for departmental resources and acquisitions
- Collaborate with academic institutions on specialized archival projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from ALA-accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years experience in public library operations with supervisory experience
- Expertise in integrated library systems (ILS) and digital preservation techniques
- Proven ability to develop culturally responsive community engagement initiatives
- Advanced knowledge of metadata standards and cataloging principles
- Strong statistical reporting experience for collection development analysis
