Responsibilities
- Manage digital and physical collections using ALA-acataloging standards
- Lead community outreach programs including literacy initiatives and cultural events
- Supervise junior staff and volunteers in daily library operations
- Implement technology solutions for patron services and resource accessibility
- Develop specialized collections supporting local historical research
- Coordinate interlibrary loan systems and resource sharing networks
- Conduct advanced reference consultations for academic and professional researchers
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) from ALA-accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years library experience with 2+ years in supervisory role
- Proficiency in integrated library systems (ILS) like Sierra or Koha
- Advanced knowledge of metadata standards and digital preservation
- Experience grant writing for cultural institution funding
- Valid Louisiana driver's license for outreach program travel
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
- Certification in archival management or digital humanities
