Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop advanced quantum error correction techniques for fault-tolerant systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing architectures using state-of-the-art hardware
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoD grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing curriculum development
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Published record in top-tier quantum computing journals (e.g., Nature Quantum, PRX Quantum)
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments and parallel programming
- Demonstrated success in securing competitive research grants
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
