Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant computing systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and control systems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning applications
- Publish findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in research grants from NSF and DoE quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers and supervise quantum computing internship programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics (post-doc preferred)
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithm development or error correction
- Proficiency in linear algebra, quantum information theory, and complexity analysis
- Experience with superconducting qubit or trapped-ion hardware platforms
- Strong track record of interdisciplinary collaboration with engineers/physicists
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into experimental prototypes
