Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum-classical hybrid computing frameworks
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum error correction protocols
- Develop patentable quantum applications for finance, healthcare, and climate modeling
- Mentor PhD candidates and drive quantum education initiatives
- Secure $5M+ in government grants for quantum computing initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with published papers
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quipper) and frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Experience with superconducting quantum processors or ion trap systems
- Track record of translating theoretical concepts into practical applications
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Ability to secure research funding through NSF/NIH grants
