Responsibilities
- Safely walk dogs individually or in small groups (max 4 dogs) in designated Austin neighborhoods and parks
- Provide real-time photo/video updates to pet owners via our mobile app
- Administer basic care including feeding, fresh water, and waste cleanup
- Maintain detailed activity logs and health observations for each pet
- Transport pets to/from veterinary appointments when required
- Adapt walks to individual dog needs (energy levels, behavioral quirks)
- Attend monthly team training sessions to expand skills
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year professional dog handling experience or equivalent volunteer work
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record (for transportation)
- Reliable vehicle and smartphone with data plan
- Ability to walk 5+ miles daily in various weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of dog behavior, body language, and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset
- Pet First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
