Responsibilities
- Walk and Exercise: Provide safe and enjoyable walks for dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring they get adequate physical activity.
- Feeding & Hydration: Ensure dogs are fed according to their dietary requirements and have access to fresh water.
- Cleanup: Always carry waste bags and clean up after dogs immediately to maintain hygiene.
- Behavior Monitoring: Observe dogs for any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior and report them promptly to the owner.
- Communication: Provide daily updates via text or app to owners regarding their pet's trip, mood, and energy levels.
- Home Security: Check mail, bring in packages, or water plants (if requested) to give the home a lived-in appearance.
- Adherence to Protocols: Follow all safety guidelines and company policies during every walk.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in dog walking, pet sitting, or animal care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Love for Animals: A genuine passion for dogs and a patient, gentle demeanor.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, responsible, and trustworthy with keys to client homes.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to update owners.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to walk 1-2 miles comfortably and handle dogs of different sizes.
- Legal Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old and willing to undergo a background check.
- Transportation: Reliable vehicle with valid driver's license and insurance.
